GAUGER, Nicolas and Anthon Heinrich HORST (translator).
La mechanique (sic!) du feu oder Kunst die Würckung des Feuers zu vermehren, und die Kosten davon zu verringern …

Hannover, Nicolaus Förstern, 1717. 8vo. Contemporary green boards. With full-page engraved frontispiece, title-page printed in red and black, 15 folding engraved plates. [14], 318, [10] pp.

A very rare book with indications for the improvement for chimneys, accompanied by 15 explanatory engravings. The proposed constructions will prevent unnecessary loss of warm air and thereby reduce fuel costs.

B-A Note: I’m not sure why I find antique technical manuals so intriguing. I guess I find it fascinating how old some crafts and knowledge are.
